Hello!

Welcome to my website and my journey as a new children’s book writer.

Wading into the world of writing is intimidating at best, but here I go! Though not yet published, it’s a work in progress. I’m very excited to share my stories with the world, oneimaginative page a time.

Read, Dream, Grow.

I’m a proud mom of two grown humans and a sweet dog named Winnie. (I love Winne the Pooh). I live in central Florida with my wonderful husband. Since retiring from teaching after thirty plus years in the classroom, I’ve been able to write the stories I’ve been longing to tell. When I’m not writing, I enjoy spending my time reading, completing puzzles, crocheting blankets and amigurumi animals, and capturing life through my camera.

My WritingAs a writer, my storytelling comes from personal experiences, which helps me to insert a range of emotions, reactions, and authenticity into my work. Drawing from real moments allows me to create characters and settings that feel alive and relatable. I focus on weaving genuine emotion into my stories — whether it's joy, fear, wonder, or sadness — so that readers can truly connect with the journey. My style leans toward vivid imagery, thoughtful pacing, and a conversational tone that invites readers to step into the world I'm creating.

GenreChildren’s books have always been a favorite genre whether it’s a picture book or middle grade chapter book.
I loved to use picture books in the classroom, even in high school English classes and advanced research courses. They engage the reader since they are fun, accessible, and interactive. I love these stories that are read over and over, handed down in families, and build a love of reading.
My middle grade books are currently realistic fiction focused on engaging characters, the dynamic and ever-changing relationships that occur in middle grade stories, as well as, unitizing settings that middle grade readers (upper and lower) would find themselves in and could relate to easily.

Sweet Words from Readers.

Your reviews and mentions on the social media are priceless.

"A Walk with Grampy has quickly become the 'must-read' book in our house. Beth Rubin has such a gentle, sincere way of writing that really brings the magic of the bond between a grandparent and child to life. The pictures are lovely, but the heart of the story is what keeps my daughter pulling it off the shelf every single night before bed."

Sage G.

"Beth Rubin's middle grade book, When Words Dance, really gets the preteen years—the humor and the awkwardness feel like stuff my daughter actually deals with. The kids in the story are so well-written that you can't help but root for them. The story is touching enough to make you cry and funny enough to keep you laughing. My daughter finished it and immediately asked when the next one was coming out.."

Amanda C.

"It is rare to find a new author who can pivot so seamlessly between the wide-eyed wonder of a toddler and the complex inner world of a pre-teen, but these two debuts have become instant staples in our home. These stories have done more than just entertain; they have filled our evenings with quiet moments of wonder for my youngest and opened a beautiful door for my middle-schooler to share her heart, bringing us all closer together through the magic of a shared story."

Morgan J.

"This heartfelt story depicts a middle school girl named Maisey and shows how she navigates friendships, school pressures, and a deeply personal struggle in which she feels she has to hide. Maisey is a character many readers will instantly connect with because she is funny, loyal, curious, and quietly carrying the weight of something she’s afraid to share- her struggle with reading. The book does a powerful job of showing how isolating it can feel to fall behind in something that everyone else seems to do effortlessly. Maisey’s secret shapes her daily life and it’s interesting to see how her friendships evolve. Additionally, her adventures with her friends, interactions with teachers, and connections with family bring lightness to the story while also highlighting her inner conflict. Readers can sense a contrast between what she’s feeling inside and how she presents herself. Maisey’s journey makes this book perfect for young readers. Overall, When Words Dance creates a touching and important story about hidden struggles and the fear of being “found out.” It encourages empathy and reminds us that we all are dealing with something."
